If we ever needed scientific evidence to back up our love of music, we have it now.  A new study, published in the journal Public Health shows that attending a live concert, can reduce the stress hormone cortisol.   They worked with 117 volunteers who had their cortisol levels tested before and after a concert and found that across the board, people's level of cortisol was lower after the concert.

Granted, there wasn't a control group in this study, so it warrants further research, but it aligns with previous research showing that listening to music in a controlled setting (such as a laboratory or hospital) can reduce cortisol levels.

The power of music has been undeniable for us, (based on our experience entertaining thousands of folks) but it's nice to have concrete scientific evidence to back that up!
